Even though she doesn’t have dissociative personality disorder, the author has a two-faced life. As an otaku, she has given herself the pseudonym Kairu. As a student, she is Jolene.
Kairu is a fan fiction writer and cosplayer. She likes to write reviews on stuff such as manga, Wattpad stories of others, and even anime conventions. She likes to draw and play musical instruments although she doesn’t plan to make a career out of those things. She prefers 2D guys over real ones. She intends to spread otaku culture with her words.
Jolene, on the other hand, graduated from Divine Light Academy (grade school) in 2011 and Manila Science High School in 2015. As an elementary school student she had no experience with journalism whatsoever, but she constantly wrote original fiction. In high school, she became a staffer of Ang Ubod (the official Filipino publication of MSHS) and started out as a graphic artist. She was promoted to Layout Artist in her junior year where she was a part of the team of The Golden Trail, her school’s 50th anniversary souvenir program, and Ang Mapanuring Umalohokan, a textbook on Campus Journalism. She was later on promoted to Managing Editor during her senior year and became 1/2 of the layout team of the Kalatas, the Batch 2015 yearbook. She is currently a student of De La Salle University Manila.
The author started blogging in 2010 and she has no plans of stopping.
